Create & Format Documents (Part 2)

Bullets vs numbers, visual hierarchy, built-in styles, spell-check and the Ghanaian name dilemma.

By the end, you will be able to:

  • Decide when to use a bulleted list (order does not matter) or a numbered list (order matters), and create both.
  • Explain visual hierarchy (title, Heading 1, Heading 2, body) and apply a heading using the Styles pane.
  • Use right-click to fix spelling, and use Add to Dictionary or Ignore All for Ghanaian names and words.
  • Open Print Preview with Ctrl + P, spot an accidental page 2, and choose portrait or landscape.

    1. Bullets or Numbers?

    1. Step-by-step Jollof rice recipe: Numbers.
    2. Tech Club supplies (pen, notebook, USB drive): Bullets.

    4. Qualities of a good digital citizen: Bullets.

    2. Written Review Questions

    1. The computer's dictionary was made with British or American words, so it does not recognise Koforidua or Bolgatanga; they are not misspelt. Right-click and choose Add to Dictionary (or Ignore All for this document).
    2. Look for: it shows exactly how the document will look on real A4 paper, so you can spot mistakes or an accidental blank page 2 before wasting paper and ink.
    3. Ctrl + P.
  5. Rate yourself and save your work ⏱️ 5 min

Tick how confident you feel on the last page, then press 🖨 Print / Save as PDF in the workbook to keep a copy. On a shared computer, press Clear my answers when you have saved it.

Stuck? Try this

📖 Read it again, slowly

Most problems are one missed word. Look for the Panic Button or Help box in the workbook.

🧊 The 3D lab won't load?

Refresh the page. On a very old computer it may not show 3D. The workbook still has everything you need.

💾 My answers disappeared?

Answers save on the computer you typed them on. Open the workbook on that same computer and browser.

🤝 Still stuck?

Ask your mentor, a teacher or a friend. Show them the step number you are on.
